Winnipeg Cycling Map 2009

Winnipeg Cycling Map 2009: Ideal for all cyclists pedalling the city, whether Sunday-riding with a friend, cycling to pick up groceries, or commuting to work on a Monday morning.

The brand new Winnipeg Cycling Map highlights suggested routes to destinations throughout the city and indicates what riding conditions cyclists can expect on those routes.

Curt Hull (Climate Change Connection, Bike to the Future's Treasurer), who served as the project manager on the Winnipeg Cycling Map 2009 Committee says: “Winnipeg really needs this map. People want to use their bicycles. I really believe that if people can find a comfortable, reasonably direct route to their destinations, then many will chose to use their bikes to get around. This map shows the city’s network of existing routes that will get cyclists to their destinations. The map also shows proposed future additions to the network that will really advance the goal of making Winnipeg a cycling friendly city.”

Winnipeg Cycling Map 2009 will be available at bike shops and other retailers around Winnipeg starting on Wednesday April 29th. For more information on the location closest to you, call 925-5686.

The Winnipeg Cycling Map 2009 is funded through the City of Winnipeg, Public Works, working in conjunction with a steering committee of volunteers representing: Bike to the Future, Climate Change Connection, Resource Conservation Manitoba, the Manitoba Cycling Association and the Winnipeg Trails Association.
